Publication Ethics

Basically, ethical standards for publication aim to ensure very high-quality research publications, public confidence in works, and that deserving researcher receive credit for their ideas.

Article assessment

Submitted manuscripts to the Journal of Civil and Environmental Systems Engineering are subject to peer review and are expected to meet high standards. If submitted manuscripts are approved by the editor, submissions will be considered by peer reviewers, whose identities will remain anonymous to the authors.

Plagiarism

Authors of manuscripts must not use the words, figures, or ideas of other authors without attribution to original authors in the reference section of the manuscripts. The main idea in submitted manuscript should be original. Submitted manuscripts that are found to have been plagiarized shall be rejected.

Fabrication and falsification

Submitted manuscripts that are found to have fabricated or falsified the results shall be rejected.

Conflicts of interest

Conflicts of interest (COI) occurs when issues outside research work could be deemed to have affected the neutrality or objectivity of the research work.  If you are unsure, declare a potential interest or discuss with the editorial office. Undeclared


interests may could result to sanctions by our journal editorial board. Manuscripts with undeclared conflicts that are later revealed may shall be rejected.

Editorial Reviewers

A potential reviewer should decline the review of a manuscript if:




  • He/she has recent publication or current submission with any author



  • He/she recently collaborated with any of the authors in the manuscript to be reviewed



  • He/she has a close personal connection to any author



  • He/she has a financial interest in the subject of the work



Corrections and retractions

When errors or mistakes are found in published articles, the publisher will consider what action is required and may consult the editors and the authors. Errors may be corrected when noticed and date of correction stated in the published work.
